A GOAL in each half spells World Cup defeat for Alfie Wylie's side.

NORTHERN Ireland's senior ladies team suffered a two-goal defeat this evening in their World Cup qualifier in Slovakia. Played in the National Training Ground, Senec, Alfie Wylie's side fell behind in the first half after a poor backpass let in a home striker. Then, three minutes after the break, they fell further behind from a successfully converted penalty.

The ladies are next in action on April 22nd at home to Kazakhstan and then on May 20th when Romania visit.
