Kings Park claim glory in Northcott / Crusaders Girls Cup

The Northcott / Crusaders girls cup was first organised in 2004 with 8 schools taking part from the North Belfast / Newtownabbey areas from both sides of our community since then the competition has grown and this years event saw 16 schools converge on the Valley Leisure Centre on Wednesday 23rd March.

The competition was played in a very friendly but competitive sprite with some outstanding performances during the day . St Bernards and Kings Park both from Newtownabbey went head to head in the final which turned out to be a cracker played in front of the Mayor of Newtownabbey in the end Kings Park edged it 4 goals to 2.

The winners will be the guests of Crusaders FC on Saturday 8th April at their home game with Dundela the team will also visit one of the competitions sponsors Mc Donalds in the morning for a special treat. Competition organiser Charlie Boyd Crusaders FC Youth Development Officer thanks all the teachers for their continued support and to all the girls for taking part in what was a fun filled day. He also thanked the sponsors Northcott Shopping Centre, Newtownabbey Borough Council Mc Donald's Newtownabbey, everyone who volunteered their services from Crusaders and friends of the Crues.
