29.04.05 Northern Ireland 0 - 2 Scotland (report by Martin Harris)

The Northern Ireland v Scotland encounter at Larne Tech OB FC was a lively and entertaining affair, with good skills on show from both teams.

Territorially, the Scots had the better of things and Kim Little and Polly Dolman were prominent for the visitors. Alex Ogle was the pick of the Northern Ireland team in the first half, and the only element missing was a goal.

The Scots took the lead on 58 minutes when good combination work was rewarded with a strike by Ruesha Littlejohn. The same player demonstrated tremendous skill in 64 minutes when she swivelled to volley home.

Four minutes later, Alex Ogle had Northern Ireland's best effort when she brought a fine save from Scottish 'keeper Alexander.

The Northern Ireland team defended with determination throughout and were dangerous on the break, but Scotland's victory was deserved.
