Northern Ireland went ahead on 39 minutes through Sarah McFadden in the 11th-12th place play-off, however goals from Paula Cristina on 57 minutes, Dani on 80 minutes and Couto in the final moments of the match saw Northern Ireland crash to a 3-1 defeat.

"It was a learning experience for the girls," said manager Alfie Wylie afterwards. "We have five under-19s here who'll be competing in the Euro Champs in Switzerland next month and it was good for them. We have come on a long way and this was great preparation for the World Cup qualifiers."
