RESULT 3 – 0

As the line ups took place for these two squads the physical differences in height and weight were incredible with the Scottish dominating in both. As the game kicked off the N. Ireland team defended well with the Scottish dominating possession.
Twelve minutes into the game, the Scottish forced a corner from the N. Ireland side. As the corner was about to be taken the two centre backs from the Scottish side approached the 18 yard area. The corner was taken and one of the centre backs Eilish McSorely timed her run perfectly and rifled a stunning header into the N. Ireland net. The goalkeeper did not stand a chance.
Seven minutes later the Scottish team forced another corner. The corner was taken and again the two Scottish centre backs approached the 18 yard area, again Eilish McSorely towered above the rest of the players and scored another great header, and this put the Scottish side 2 nil up at half time.
The N. Ireland team came out more positively in the 2nd half and managed to force several corners in the first fifteen minutes, unfortunately they could not punish the Scottish side for their defensive errors. In the last minute of the game the Scottish team were awarded a free kick about 30 yards from the N. Ireland net, the ball was whipped in bouncing just inside the 18 yard area, a Scottish forward struck the ball beautifully on the half volley, giving the goalkeeper no chance as it ended up in the N. Ireland net. The final whistle went with a 3 – 0 win for Scotland.
