Valley Ranger Ladies Frudles Division Two Champions

On Thursday 11th August, Valley Rangers Ladies were due to host Wellington Rec in their final league game of the season. The opposition forfeited point by not travelling, the second such instance this season that the Valley have been denied the opportunity to add goals to their goal tally.

Without a game to play the focus for the evening was the presentation of the Frudles Division Two Cup and medals to the team. Andy Hall Vice- Chairman of the NIWFA, Malcolm Roberts The Newry & Mourne Grassroots Officer, Newry & Mourne Deputy Mayor Geraldine Donnelly and Local Councillor William Burns were in attendance and Mr Hall spoke first congratulating all involved with winning the league, he then said they had the ability to go even further and all should aspire to further honours, he spoke of Glentoran Ladies who had won the Premier Division and thus qualified for Europe. Stating that opportunities to progress in ladies football were now more prevenient that previously.

The Deputy Mayor then presented the Cup and medals to the Valley Ladies wishing to be associated with the congratulations, with Natalie Graham (Valley Captain) suitably replying thanking the clubs Sponsors, her side, the management, the press and the spectators.
