U17 Update

The Northern Ireland U17 women’s team put in an excellent performance against Belgium on Monday to earn a 0-0 draw.

To keep a clean sheet away to a top European side is a terrific result and congratulations must go to Niall Curneen’s side.

This was the first of two friendly games against Belgium this week. The second game will be played on Wednesday in KSK Maldegem.

The games are being used as part of the preparations for this autumn’s 2011/2012 UEFA U17 Women’s Championship qualifying round, with Northern Ireland hosting one of the mini tournaments.

The hosts kick-off the mini tournament against England on 11 October, followed by ties against Finland (13 October) and Israel (16 October).
