YM started the game by resting a few of their established players (including Mc Cann) and found a St Matts team in a determined mood. YM probed for the illusive first goal but efforts from Carpeder and Smallwoods were all comfortably dealt with by Petrie in the Matts goal.
However on the half hour mark, Aoife Curran was forced to go off injured and Mc Cann entered the fray and her impact was immediate. Mc Keever spread the ball in behind the Matts defence and Mc Cann raced on to it, beat a defender and squared the ball for Carpeder to fire to put YM 1-0 in front at the break.
YM started the second half in a much more determined fashion and within five minutes Mc Cann again outstripped the Matts defence and fired past the keeper. Mc Keever made it 3-0 with a free kick and Loren Smallwoods added number four. Tasmin Mc Carter steered home number five and Mc Cann added number six. Mc Keever scored number seven before Mc Cann completed her hat-trick from the penalty spot. In the final minute Mc Cann scored her fourth to make the final score YMCA 9-0 St Matts.
YM will now play Cliftonville in the Final at Moyola on August 29th.
