Active Communities Football Coach Ruth Brown commented on the event:
“I am delighted with the turn out today and it is encouraging to see girls from so many different schools attending, including The Royal School, Dungannon, Cookstown High and Drumglass High, not to mention all the girls from the local primary schools. Hopefully through the work of the Active Communities programme girls’ soccer in this area will flourish in the next couple of years”.
Irish FA Women’s Football Coordinator remarked:
“This is the first in a series of events that the Irish FA will be rolling out over the summer and we are delighted with the response today. We would particularly like to thank Ruth and the Active Communities programme for their continued support. In addition, Mid Ulster Ladies have been fantastic today and it is exciting to see how hard they are working in this area to develop girls’ and women’s football”.
