Larne Ladies took on Dromore Amateurs at Inver Park in the Davison’s
Frudles Championship, a slow start from both sides, the first action
of note being the away keeper’s clean catch from an 11th minute
inswinging corner.
Neither side took control of the game and other than a 40th
minute shot over the bar from Gill Small the half finished goalless.
A brighter start to the second half saw Laura Aicken fire a shot
across the away side’s penalty area evading keeper and defence. A
50th minute free kick from Trish Neill cannoned off the crossbar and out of play, from the goalkick Dromore easily bypassed midfield and a left wing cross into the penalty box went unchallenged to give Dromore a 1-0 lead.
Substitutes Teah Maguire and Jenna Mulholland came on in the hope of
turning the game around but a 75th minute edge of box free kick
doubled the lead.
A difficult night for Larne ended with a red card for
Jacqueline Spence and the resulting spot kick gave Dromore a 3-0
victory.
