U15 Northern Ireland 1-4 Republic of Ireland

The Northern Ireland side started slow and nervously, conceding two goals in the first ten minutes. The Northern Ireland side then started slowly coming into the game with play down both sides of the pitch, which created opportunities and put the Republic of Ireland on the back foot. However we lost possession in the middle of the pitch which allowed the Republic of Ireland to hit back with a wonder strike 25 yards out, and to make the score three nil to the Republic of Ireland. A deterred Northern Ireland side fought back and put a cross into the box which the keeper dropped Moya Feehan was quick to react and struck the ball into the Republic of Ireland’s net making it 3 to 1 at halftime.

At the start of the second half the Northern Ireland side came out positively, dominating possession for the first twenty minutes, creating a lot of opportunities which we were unable to convert. Good play from the Republic of Ireland forced a penalty in the twenty fifth minute, which then made the score 4 to 1. The Northern Ireland side again managed to dominate possession creating chances for Moya Feehan and Rebekah McMullan, however they were unfortunate to see their shots go wide.
