With a different Mallards side and experimenting with first team players in different positions Mallards were taking a risk
Derry City were unbeaten before the game.
Mallards won a pelenty after a Nicky Hynes shot was hand balled off the line – good save by keeper for pelanty.
Derry opened the scoring when a across the goal shot went past keeper Louise McFrederick.
Mallards put on plenty of pressure in the first half.
The goal came finally for Mallards when left winger Lisa Woods took the ball around the keeper despite a stumble from a
tackle to fight for the ball back and slot it in the bottom corner.
Half time score :1-1
A keeper switch meant that Woods and McFrederick went back to their starting team positions.
Mallards piled on the pressure and with strong defending extended their lead through a Louise McFrederick strike.
Mallards made it three when a cross came in to be deflected off a defender giving Karen Coulter the goal.
Mallards looked like it was all plain sailing when there fourth and final goal was a beautiful strike from Aisling McCaughey.
The game was far from over when Derry hit back straight from a centre.
Derry got their third after a string of attacks lead to another good goal.
Mallards won the game which was a huge credit to all the girls determination.
