Match Report
Lisburn Distillery Predators V Ballymena Allstars, Wed 26th May, Ashfield Boys School
Ballymena Allstars continued their winning ways with a narrow victory against Lisburn Distillery Predators at Ashfield Boys School on Wednesday night.
It took the Allstars a while to become accustomed to the synthetic pitch but once they got going, they started to play some very fast moving, impressive football.
For large parts in the first half, Ballymena dominated the match and in fairness should have scored 3 or 4 goals but for some poor finishing. Both teams went in at half time, neither a goal to the good.
The second half saw the Allstars lose focus a bit, and Predators started to threaten. Keeper Ciara McCoy made some excellent saves to keep it at 0-0 until the break through finally came for the Allstars. Midfielder Teri Magee played a through ball which striker Ali Smyth managed to lift over the advancing keeper.
Predators kept up the pressure and always looked dangerous but the Ballymena defense managed to hold out and the game finished 1-0 to the Allstars. This hard earned victory sees the Allstars maintain 3rd place in the Davidsons Frudles NI Premier league and keep the pressure on second placed Glentoran.
Team: Ciara McCoy, Jayne Perry, Aimee Beggs, Emma Elliott, Wendy Young, Rachel Fulton, Teri Magee, Katie Condon, Naomi McMullan, Ali Smyth, Miranda Graham
